$18,000 TAAP grant for local staff development from California Eisenhower - Funds through the California State University Chancellor's Office. With this money and significant community assistance, Monte Vista established a self-sustaining pond, the Monarch Marsh," for student use in the science program at Monte Vista High
Fellow for Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Program - Project: "Development of a series of "textettes" for integrated/coordinated high school science classes." In this project, he wrote and desktop published a significant portion of the text books used by the coordinated science students at Monte Vista
